Playing elemental instruments
Elemental instruments are instruments that can be played with a minimal amount of training. these include small percussion, drums, ethnic instruments, and simple mallet instruments such as xylophones, metalophones, and glockenspiels, that are set up in a pentatonic scale so that all notes sound good together. This is ideal for early improvisation, and also teaches pitch relationships, and discipline. Older children will learn to play recorder. Recorder is a great instrument on it's own and can also be a good start for kids who will later play in band.
